MORE ABOUT OUR SPEAKER: Howard Bogard practices with the law firm of Burr & Forman LLP in its Birmingham, Alabama office.  Howard’s areas of focus involve corporate and regulatory health care matters, including Stark Law, Anti-kickback Statute and False Claims Act compliance, physician practice formation, joint venture arrangements, private equity transactions, mergers and acquisitions, Medicare and third-party audits and investigations and contract negotiations. Howard represents a variety of health care clients, including hospitals, health systems, surgery centers, clinical labs, physician practices, medical staffs, academic medical centers, therapy centers and imaging centers.  Howard is the former President of the Alabama Bar Health Law section (serving six years) and is a frequent speaker on a variety of health care law topics.  He is also an adjunct professor at Cumberland Law School in Birmingham, Alabama in the area of health care law. He has been recognized by Best Lawyers in America in the field of Health Law since 2005, and was selected as Best Lawyers’ Birmingham “Lawyer of the Year” in Health Law in 2011, 2020 and 2025.
